Now Playing - November 2018
Auto Racing (Intellivision)
Sonic 3D Flickies' Island (Mega Drive)
Auto Racing (Intellivision Lives!, PlayStation 2)
It's still not as good as the real thing but it's still good enough to have some fun with.
Bomb Squad (Intellivision Lives!, PlayStation 2)
This one is borderline unplayable, the heavy use of the numeric keypad and bad control emulation ruins a lot of the intuitive nature of the game and like most games on this disc the lack of proper instructions makes it so you have to look up extra stuff online to get a good idea what to even do.
Thankfully I already know how to play most these games properly but for others who want to get into Intellivision are gonna have a very hard time with this collection, sadly. It does not show off the awesomeness of the real games running on original hardware, that's for sure.
Skiing (Intellivision Lives!, PlayStation 2)
Enduro (Intellivision Lives!, PlayStation 2)
This one I am not so familiar with, but I'm trying to get the hang of it, I'm getting better.
Stadium Mud Buggies (Intellivision Lives!, PlayStation 2)
Sonic The Hedgehog (Sonic Mega Collection Plus, PlayStation 2)
Sadly they've just lazily taken the 60hz NTSC roms and slowed them down to play at 50hz for this collection, so the games run and sound slow and weird, far from the real 50hz PAL original versions on original hardware.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (Sonic Mega Collection Plus, PlayStation 2)
Sonic 3D Flickies' Island (Sonic Mega Collection Plus, PlayStation 2)
WRC Rally Evolved (PlayStation 2)
A really great rally game with some cool extreme weather effects and stuff, kinda similar to games like Motorstorm Apocalypse or Split/Second.
WRC 4 (PlayStation 2)
A great rally game, it's basically like WRC Rally Evolved but focused on regular rally racing only. Both are great games.
Rally Championship (PlayStation 2)
A fantastic arcade rally game, I love the driving physics, the music is awesome, this may be a new contender for the best [arcade] rally game I've ever played. I can't seem to wipe off the huge dumb grin I get on my face when playing this.
Jet Ion GP (PlayStation 2)
A nostalgic classic for me, I think it was the third or possibly fourth game I got for my PS2 back in the day.
New York Race (PlayStation 2)
I got this game less than a year ago but originally I could've gotten it instead of Jet Ion GP.
Now finally I've been able to compare both side by side and truly see if I made the right choice when I picked Jet Ion GP over New York Race all those years ago.
I have to say yes, I made the right choice, as good as New York Race is, I like Jet Ion GP better. I'm glad to finally have both though.
Sonic CD (Sonic Gems Collection, PlayStation 2)
Beat is with the bad ending but I did probably my personal best run ever, with only having lost one life during the whole playthrough, obtaining 5 of the time stones and getting the good future in I think 8 or 9 stages.
Sonic Unleashed (PlayStation 2)
This game is awful.
It's the same version that is on Wii so I can't even imagine how bad that one must be if it's this game with broken motion controls..
I have the Xbox 360 version, which is different from the PS2/Wii versions, but I haven't played that one yet. I'm guessing it's probably really awful as well, maybe not quite as bad as this one but still really bad, I have no reason to think they made it better in any way that counts, the atrocious Sonic Generations I have on Xbox 360 has made sure I can exclusively assume the very worst of all modern Sonic games.
As a side note, anyone who dares complain about even a single tiny little thing about Sonic 06 needs to play this (and/or Sonic Generations) to see what truly bad Sonic games are like, then they need to beg on their bare knees to Sonic 06 for forgiveness.
Crash of the Titans (PlayStation 2)
I didn't have much hope for this being good but it suprised me, in fact it's one of the better 3D platformers I've played.
Good visuals, good gameplay, good controls, good level design, very good multilingual voice acting.
The combat could've been a bit better in the responsiveness and control, but the ability to take over large enemies and use their abilities adds a nice variety and depth to the combat and gameplay of the entire game, so overall that's all still good too.
Offroad Extreme! (PlayStation 2)
I have this on Wii and played it a few years ago, it was pretty bad with the visuals and framerate but I remember it having really responsive and accurate motion controls, far better than any other Wii game in fact, and now I've tried out the PS2 version and can safely say the framerate, visuals and controls are all much better than in the Wii version, as good as the Wii version's controls are they are to no suprise infinitely better with an analog stick, and the visuals actually look okay in this, still low budget looking but they run silky smooth and the environments and textures don't look weird like they did on Wii.
Simply put, the PS2 version is clearly superior in every way to the newer Wii version, and keep in mind that Wii had a more than twice as powerful CPU than PS2 and twice as much RAM memory.
Armored Core (PlayStation)
Made the Shadow The Hedgehog logo as an emblem. Also began work on a My Little Pony emblem of the old cartoon (My Little Pony Tales) show logo.
Dead Or Alive 2 (PlayStation 2)
LEGO Batman The Videogame (PlayStation 2)
Saint Seiya The Hades (PlayStation 2)
What a disappointment. I enjoyed the anime series back in the day, Hilda De Polaris being my favorite character, but this game is just awful.
Ugly, poor controls, repetitive, limited gameplay and game modes, awful game design with enemies being allowed to revive themselves multiple times before you defeat them but you game over instantly if you lose once, enemies are either super easy and can be defeated by repeating a single attack or they are impossibly hard and spam super moves that can't be dodged that drain 95% of your health in one hit, japanese voices only, retarded dialog options you have to unlock before they are actual options but you still have to pick the only option available as if you had a choice only to waste your time and slow down the already awful excuses for cutscenes.
I really didn't find a single redeemable feature in this game. I didn't even get to see Hilda.
DT Racer (PlayStation 2)
Feels good to play my favorite racing game of all time again.
Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow (PlayStation 2)
Awful gameplay design, atrocious tutorial design, garbage programming and optimization with tons of unnecessary in-level loading times and framerate issues, glitches, artificial limitations on what you can do making a vast majority of the moves you have at your disposal unusable, bad voice acting, extremely poor script with cringe worthy dialogue from everyone, continuity problems severely limiting your freedom of options in the levels.
It's a bad game, plain and simple. Play a good stealth action game instead, there are many of them, even in the same series there are better ones that are older, this one is simply one of the worst, avoid it entirely, you're not missing out on anything good if you never play this, you're just saving yourself from a headache and frustration.
The Italian Job L.A. Heist (PlayStation 2)
One of those potentially fantastic games that was ruined by absolutely retarded progress design. Unless you super master every single little corner of the game with every car and save your progress you'll never see a vast majority of it, not even in multiplayer mode which could've been great and fun had they just had everything unlocked to enjoy. Having to perfect the entire singleplayer experience to have anything fun in multiplayer is at best insult to injury. Such a shame. it plays great otherwise, looks great too. Tight controls and fun stunt moves, it has so many top quality attributes it's nothing short of impressive how they managed to systematically go through all the trouble of locking down the entire game and making it one of the hardest games ever to unlock even a single new thing in. One of the best examples of all time on how not to design a game's difficulty and means of progression.
Cold Winter (PlayStation 2)
An overall mediocre FPS with a great physics engine, tons of interactivity and great dynamic lighting and shadows, too bad none of that is used and it plays more similar to Wolfenstein 3D or Doom than, say, a stealth game or something.
Battle Engine Aquila (PlayStation 2)
Good old cockpit view mech shooter. I wish it would've had a third person view but it's still a good game, some repetitive missions and sadly as always with game like this the developers just had to force in annoying protect and escort missions to ruin the fun.
Star Wars Racer Revenge (PlayStation 2)
I like it, it's fast, looks good, controls good, sounds good and has nice levels with multiple paths. I wish it would've had weapons like WipEout, but you can at least damage your opponents with aggressive playing, so it's not completely limited to just basic racing at least.
Star Wars Jedi Starfighter (PlayStation 2)
An okay free-flight spaceship shooter, nowhere near the level of games like StarLancer, Star Trek Invasion, Colony Wars Red Sun or Blast Radius but not bad either, just okay. Framerate issues, some clunky command controls, clunky enemy selection/targeting controls, repetitive defend, destroy all, protect and escort missions and repetitive gameplay keep it from being great.
The SeeD Warzone (PlayStation 2)
I'm getting a little better at this game. I always wanted to be good at it and play through it properly but I've never had the time to dedicate to learning all the depth this game has to offer.
Super Mario Bros. 3 (Entertainment System)
Super Mario Bros. (Entertainment System)

This game is really getting on my nerves, problems with glitches, poor design and low quality are rearing their ugly heads too much, I may not car enough to get through this one 100% like I did multiple times in a row like I did with the two previous games. A clear step down in quality to say the least, I even enjoyed the downscaled 3DS version better as it was downscaled in good ways, it skips a lot of the problem and keeps the best stuff.
UPDATE 7 April: I beat the story mode at least, doing most of the side stuff as well but I'm not aiming for 100% of this, some side quests are just far too annoying.
UPDATE 15 April: After having unlocked a bunch of more stuff and completed most of the side quests that aren't flying or checkpoint racing I ran into one hell of a glitch where the hub worlds loaded combined, the one I was at and travelled from merged with the one I travelled to creating a whole new dimension, especially when I combined the lantern worlds with the batcave or the watchtower becuase they were not compatible with their gravity and coordinate alignment so I was running in the air and up and down walls etc, it was pure pandemonium, it actually took quite a long time before it froze from all this madness but sadly I haven't been able to recreate it again after that, it happened after I unlocked Giganta and tried to warp and switch characters, her size difference powers are most likely the catalyst but some other ingredient seems to be missing for it to happen again, I've tried with different characters, even both being Giganta, large and small combinations, but nothing has triggered it to happen again so far.
To be honest, this is the best thing this game has offered so far, in the midst of all the mediocrity it's offered this stood out and one hell of an experience, so I'd love to be able to recreate it again and learn how to trigger it manually, that'd be awesome.
Oh and also I've finally gone all the hub worlds and it's specifically the green lantern world Oa where you finally get to use all the vehicles you unlock in the game, it almost exclusively has land and air racing challenges, so it's not exactly a huge open world like Gotham was in Lego Batman 2 DC Superheroes, but it's at least something as the rest of the game virtually have no vehicles at all other than the select few side scrolling shooter levels.
Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens (PlayStation Vita)
One mission at a time, slow and steady wins the race...? Nah I'm done for now, time for something else to make my Vita fun again, hopefully.
Justice League Task Force (Mega Drive)
The music alone is worth starting up this game for.
Still one of the most criminally underrated fighting games of the 16-bit generation and one of the most polarizingly opposite of it's Super Nintendo counterpart as on Super Nintendo this game is extremely poor and I can only recommend avoiding it entirely, yeah it's sadly that bad, handled by another developer and the result was a wildly different version that fails to be as good as the Mega Drive game in every way, shape and form.
On Mega Drive this is a must play for fighting game, DC and Mega Drive fans.
The Adventures of Bayou Billy (Entertainment System)
I really like this game, despite the design changes for this version over how the original Japanese version, Mad City, was.
It's a really cool game, reminds me of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves as it also has multiple genres of gameplay baked into it, sadly this game is overly tedious due to the increased difficulty, but the gameplay that's there is still really good, with good controls, good visuals, great music and some nice technical impressive things like digitized voice samples and screen warping effects, not bad at all for an old Entertainment System game.
Slalom (Entertainment System)
Rare sure like making potentially great games that get hindered with far too high difficulty.
Ride! Next Generation Equitation (PC)
I wanted to try one of the first horse games I got for PC, it's technically a very well made game, even if it's not my genre at all and I suck at it, at least it's better than most other horse games as this at least manages to be a professional level game for those interested in this type of thing, it's not just another low quality horse tamagotchi sim where you waste most of your time playing awful minigames like washing the horse, feeding it and literally picking up horse shit, this focuses on obstacle courses and such, the competition and actual sport, so kudos for that at least, it also look rather good with some very nicely detailed horses, environments, special effects and animations, for a 2008 PC game in this specific genre it looks very good indeed.
Night Stalker (PC)
Just running around shooting some bats, robots and the occasional spider in this very competent fan made PC port of the Intellivision classic.
Cat Pöke (PC)
Just having some fun poking cat butts.
Cat Planet (PC)
Just flying around looking for some talkative little kitties.
The Adventures of Captain Comic (PC)
I got farther than I've ever done before, that was cool, I almost feel like there's a chance I could beat the game now, I've had it since I was a kid, it was one of the first PC games I ever played, so it would've been cool to beat this one at least once.
Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed (PlayStation Vita)
Already knew it was gonna look bad seeing as it's a port of the 3DS version rather than a port of the HD console version, sadly, but it's still okay I guess, it could've been amazing had they just had some ACTUAL all-stars to play as, but alas it's the most generic and common ones like Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles, and a bunch of characters you never wanted and for several of them you probably never even heard or or knew where there as you probably played the better characters in the games these ones come from, like the one guy from Crazy Taxi nobody plays as, some secondary character from Jet Grind Radio Future/Jet Set Radio, a couple of monkeys from Samba de Amigo (I think, and yes they get two characters featured from that game, as if one uninteresting monkey you didn't know or want to play as wasn't enough, they gave us two, you know instead of something you'd like to play as becuase that would've been too much fun according to Sega, and we can't have fun in videogames, nope, we have to be disappointed and wishing we were playing a good game instead, that's the modern Sega way for some reason!) and fucking Alex Kidd etc., but almost none of the ones you know and love and would've actually wanted to play as are there, so yeah, thanks Sega for making it obvious why we should never buy your games when they're new and you can still make a profit from a sale, we never will, we promise.
Need for Speed Road Challenge (PC)
Not fully compatible with Windows 7 it seems, so I have to run it in software mode, it looks kinda like a low-end PSX game with an unusually choppy framerate.
V-Rally (PlayStation)
Just joyriding while winning some races.
Sega Rally Championship PC (PC)
Just joyriding for the fun of joyriding.

Now Playing - Februari 2018
Disney's Kim Possible Global Gemini (DS, played on 3DS)
I got as far as I could, the game requires a B grade on all levelös to play the final level and the vehicle levels I all have the lowest grades on and all the matrix like levels I have the second lowest, I despise those levels and I won't be trying to get better grades in them, the game was not good enough to warrant such an arbitrary bullshit requirement to complete the game, I unlocked all the bonus stuff and found all the secrets so there's really only the end of the story left and I didn't give a flying shitsickle about the story in this game so fuck it, I'm done, it had a good game engine with good visuals and good gameplay in the regular levels, the regular levels were huge and had good gameplay design and were enjoyable to play through but the game still lied about being able to play as Rufus, you only get to use him as an item to unlock doors, you have no control over him at all, so yeah, it's an okay game but ultimately very disappointing and it should've been a lot better, the Kim Possible What's the Switch? game I have on PS2 is much better than this game in every way, the best part of this game was the visual quality, it looks very good for a DS title.
Lego Batman The Videogame (PlayStation 2)
Another great version of a great game. No complaints.
You can watch my playthrough on YouTube by clicking HERE.
Lego Batman The Videogame (DS, played on 3DS)
A different game with the same name, it's basically a simplified game made from the ground up specifically for the DS and it does offers unique content the other versions didn't have, it's nowhere near as advanced, varied or complex as the other versions but it's an okay compliment to own if you can find it cheap enough and already own a DS or 3DS.
Lego Batman The Videogame (PlayStation Portable)
Basically the console version, it lacks 2-player co-op and the visuals are a bit lower quality overall and the framerate can be a little choppy at times, but other than those minor things it's the entire full console game on the go, a very impressive port all things considered and the only way to play the full version of the game in a portable manner as the DS version was a different game entirely.
Unreal Tournament (PlayStation 2)
A very good port of the PC game, some content is missing, there aren't as many options to play around with and it can get a little choppy at times, but it definitely satisfies the urge to play some Unreal Tournament.
It's not as good as Unreal Championship or Unreal Championship 2 The Liandri Conflict on Xbox, or Unreal Tournament III on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for that matter, but it's a good alternative and without an Xbox, an Xbox 360 or a PS3 on offer this is still a great game to have some fun with.
There's also a version for Dreamcast which is fairly similar, it's been too long ago since I played it to remember exact details, but it had some differences in content, with a slightly different set of levels, but overall both are very good with roughly the same pros and cons. I'll keep trying to hunt down a copy of the Dreamcast version as I sadly don't currently own one and would really like to play it again.
Lego Star Wars II The Original Trilogy (DS, played on 3DS)
Very glitchy and choppy but more advanced than Lego Batman on DS
Lego Star Wars III The Clone Wars (3DS)
A rather good game with some occasional severe framerate issues if you have the 3D effect turned on, sadly.
WORMS (Mega Drive)
Always fun to go a few matches in WORMS. Incoming!
Cyber Sled (PlayStation)
One of the best 1-on-1 arena versus games ever made, featuring sleek futuristic hovertanks and tight arcade style controls, one of my top favorite games of all-time.
4min33secs (PC)
A simple game where you try to be the only one playing for 4 minute and 33 seconds, it's literally just a timer and a connection to an online server that keeps track if anyone else logs on and plays at the same time as you,. if you manage to be the only person wo is connected for 4 minutes and 33 seconds you win, that's it.
Cat Planet (PC)
Haven't played this in a while, it's still fun to fly through once in a while.
Death Illustrated (PC)
A game I haven't played in years, it's based on the Quake or possibly Quake 2 engine and is arena after arena of enemies you have to kill ,it's fast paced, relatively hard and very gothic in the visual style, black and white visuals and a heavy metal soundtrack, it's got some nostalgia despite not being that old, it's just about 15 years old or so.
Base Conflict (PC)
A very old artillery game with some added strategy, you control a base and you can fire missiles and send tanks toward the enemy base, you have to build new ones if you run out, it's very good and it's a nostalgic game for me.
Megatron (PC)
A very old maze shooter with battlemechs, a Vulture and a Mad Cat from the Battletech universe to be specific, I have a lot of nostalgia for this one.
Lemmings 3D (PC)
An awful game, I never liked Lemmings in the first place and in 3D with awful controls and equally awful camera controls it's even worse than it was in 2D, complete shit.

Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens (3DS)
Now I see why the Vita version was so mediocre and lackluster, it's sadly just a port of the 3DS version rather than a properly made and optimized Vita original version or stationary console port like it could've easily been seeing as the Vita is literally PS3 hardware and there are games on it that surpass even the best technical achievements on the PS3, like the incredibly impressive Killzone Mercenary that far surpasses games like Killzone 2 and 3 and Resistance 2 and 3, four of the very finest shooters the PS3 has to offer! not saying this is a bad game, it's just a shame the low tech 3DS (it's weaker than the old PSP) got a custom version when the vastly more powerful Vita just gets a slightly polished up port.
Yoshi's New Island (3DS)
Unresponsive, stiff, forced motion controls during certain segments, one-way levels that force you to replay the level from the beginning if you missed something, plain and simple this game feels like it was designed in the mid 80s.
Battle Frenzy/Bloodshot (Mega Drive)
An FPS in a similar vein to Wolfenstein 3D only in a sci-fi setting and it has a 2 player split-screen multiplayer mode.
It's a good game for the time and I like it, it gets a bit choppy and the countdown at the end of every level is almost a greater enemy than the nasty killer machines you face along the way.
It's a very tough game but it's cool enough and still enjoyable.
I got the european version titled Battle Frenzy but in the game the title screen still says Bloodshot.
Disney's Kim Possible Global Gemini (DS, played on 3DS)
Very similar to the PS2 game Kim Possible What's the Switch?, it actually does a really good job with the visuals and gameplay alike, its' smooth, responsive, you got good moves and I like the visual style with some flat shaded polygonal stuff, it fits with the cartoony look perfectly and helps the DS keep up a nice level of detail and a brisk framerate at the same time, a very well crafted game overall so far and I'm enjoying it.
UPDATE: The on-rail segments with snowboard and moped suck, they use the touch screen as a pseudo analog steering tablet and it's awkward as fuck to hold the DS/3DS while playing a game that way, those are by far the worst parts of the game so far, also the matrix type levels aren't very good either, it's just a gauntlet of dodging laser beams and a lot of grapple hook swinging, neither of which are this game's strong points, also they look really generic with the same blue grid pattern on everything.
WinX Club (PlayStation 2)
Finally I got hold of this for PS2, I've had the PC version for a few years but as both a fan of WinX Club and an avid console gamer I've always wanted the PS2 version specifically. It's virtually identical to the PC version. A good action platformer and great game for WinX Club fans.

Now Playing - Juli 2017
Been playing some more of my DS games on my newly acquired 3DS, also been taking some stereoscopic "3D" photos with it, which is a neat function, too bad I don't have any 3DS games yet, there aren't really that many I want except maybe Metroid Samus Returns which isn't coming out for another two months and a select few that are a bit on the pricey side and are hard to find. I did get hold of some good ones this month though.
Smart As... (PlayStation Vita)
Been playing this regularly every day for about three months now and I can say it's pretty much run it's course. It hasn't gotten any better, it remains a poorly executed unbalanced mess with some minor redeemable fun to be had when taken on it's own.
Marvel Nemesis Rise of the Imperfects (DS, playing on 3DS)
C.O.P. The Recruit (DS, playing on 3DS)
I'm stuck on a mission where I have to put out some busses on fire with a fire extinguisher, the timer is brutal and the touch screen aiming controls are not helping, great game otherwise but this mission can go fuck itself.
Star Wars Lethal Alliance (DS, playing on 3DS)
It's not as good as it is on PSP and every step of the way I take in this version reminds me of that fact.
Roswell Conspiracies Aliens, Myths & Legends (Game Boy Color, playing on Game Boy Advance)
A very dark game, not the best idea for a game made for portables without backlit screens, but the game itself is very well made, has some nice light effects and the level of detail is excellent, the entire level of technical quality overall is some of the best I've seen on Game Boy Color alongside games like Alone in the Dark The New Nightmare and the Harry Potter RPGs.
Sadly the game is very hard to play, not just because it's hard to see without good light conditions but also because it just doesn't play that well, it's got clunky controls, tough enemies and no way to recap what you're suppose to be doing, so remembering the mission briefing given to you before a missions starts is imperative. I gave my new GBA Advance X-Light a try and it made the game a lot easier to see, but the difficulty still kicked my ass regardless. Suffice to say I haven't gotten past the first mission yet.
Back Track (Game Boy Advance)
An FPS similar to Wolfenstein 3D and Zero Tolerance, it plays fast and relatively smooth but it's tough to aim, shoot and dodge as the controls have a lag in the animation of everything you do, you don't aim, move or shoot right away when you press the buttons, making it very unresponsive and much more difficult than it actually is. Your goal is to rescue abducted humans from aliens while gunning down the aliens and their machines.
MX Vs ATV Reflex (DS, playing on 3DS)
A pretty bad racing game with motocross bikes, ATVs, trophy trucks and monster trucks, it has pretty awkward basic controls and the advanced controls for tricks and such are even worse, it's not unplayable but it has enough issues that it's a lot less fun that it should be.
Garfield's Nightmare (DS, playing on 3DS)
Not bad at all actually, a simple platformer where you play as Garfield in his nightmares after having eaten too much food before naptime. It looks very nice, well styled, detailed and animated, one of the best DS games I've played so far.
UPDATE: I completed it 100% on the 9th, around 04:30 at night, took me about 5 hours.
Battle Arena Toshinden 4 (PlayStation)
It's not what I imagined, it has about as much to do with my beloved Battle Arena Toshinden 2 that any other random fighting game from any other completely irrelevant series does, it doesn't have the same characters anymore, at best there are some relatives and stuff to some characters from the older games and that's about it, it's not good enough in my opinion, I play Toshinden for Sofia first and foremost and her absence is one of the major complaints I have against this game, it also doesn't play quite the same, it doesn't look the same in the art style nor does it look as good visually in the technical department either, with simpler blob shadows and Tekken-esque arenas with little to no detail other than a ground texture and some very scarce background detail, it's just completely different in every way really, it only shares the genre of being a fighting game and that you have weapons to fight with, that's it. The fact that it's a continuation of the story when it's made so different means little to nothing for me as the feel of the story being relevant is completely gone when the characters that made the story aren't there anymore.
That being said, it's not awful or anything, it still looks okay and animates smoothly, it reminds me a lot of Tekken in how it looks overall, with blockier character models that animate rather slowly, it has some really cool and cinematic special attacks, somewhat similar to Evil Zone, and it plays just fine with the controls, the free moving ability is neat even if it's a lot more limited from normal gameplay when activated, as most other fighting games do from the late 90s and early 2000s, it's just not a game that stands out like the name suggested it would, or at least not in the way I had imagined.
So while it doesn't hold up to Battle Arena Toshinden 2 in any way it's still a good game, just not as great as it should've been given the honorable title of Toshinden and being a rather late title on the PlayStation it ultimately fails to impress.
By 1999 and 2000 there were many other fighting games around both on PlayStation and the other active systems, like the new next gen Dreamcast with games like SoulCalibur no less, that simply made this game look bad by comparison.
However, it should be mentioned that this was released as a low budget title, and re-released as such two more times after that in 2001 by two different budget brands only a day apart, so they at least acknowledged that it wouldn't cut it had they tried to sell it at full price.
There are minigames and unlockable art and stuff too, so there's at least a good amount of content.
Raceway Drag & Stock Racing (PlayStation 2)
Decided to give this game a try again. I actually got first place in a stock race, but it was on easy, I still haven't been able to win on normal. I just needed a win, the stock racing mode is really hard so any win was welcome at this point.
Sega 3D Classics Collection (3DS)
A small mixed bag of old 8-bit and 16-bit generation games from Sega, faithfully re-created for 3DS.
It has some great games but also some highly questionable additions and omissions, like oddly enough it has no version of Space Harrier or OutRun, even though in Japan they got both as downloadables and could've easily added them to this collection, but it has three Fantasy Zone games, whereof two are just different version of Fantasy Zone 2 and the other is a secret you can find by clicking on an empty area of the touch screen at the Extra Games menu.
The three Fantasy Zone games included are Fantasy Zone for Master System, Fantasy Zone 2 Tears of Opa Opa for Master System and Fantasy Zone 2 W.
There are some great games on here though, like the original Mega Drive version of Sonic The Hedgehog, the arcade version of both Galaxy Force II and Thunder Blade and the original Master System game Maze Walker.
There's also the Mega Drive version of Altered Beast, the previously arcade exclusive racing game Power Drift and Puyo Puyo 2.
Here's a screenshot I took of Maze Walker/Maze Hunter 3-D for Master System using the Kega Fusion emulator.

If you cross your eyes and line the two images up as one you'll get a good idea of what the 3D depth effect in this game is like, it's really nice to see in real life on a 3DS or on an original Master System with 3D glasses.
Killzone Mercenary (PlayStation Vita)
Decided to play something else now that I'm done with Smart As. I want to play something that makes me impressed by the Vita again after so much mediocrity and this game is literally the most impressive portable game I've ever seen and I just so happen to own a copy of it to play.
Fast & Furious Showdown (3DS)
It's a pretty good port of the game, a little choppy in the framerate but still playable. It's a very unbalanced game, with some things being near impossible, taking dussins of tries before you win, while others are so easy you can't help but get them on the first try, without even trying.
Moshi Monsters Katsuma Unleashed (3DS)
A basic platformer, it offers nothing that hasn't been done better before many times by countless other games, but it's okay, the framerate is strangely not very good considering how unimpressive the game looks, it's just a very basic and barely 2,5D platformer, with 2D backgrounds and 3D models for Katsuma and the enemies, it doesn't really do anything to push the hardware so why it's not a solid 60fps I don't know, it should be when it's this visually underwhelming.
UPDATE 29th Juli
Beat the game with only a few things missing for 100% completion. It was a very short game.
UPDATE 30th Juli
Completed everything else, you get Hard Mode unlocked and you can find some hidden cheat codes if you explore a bit.

Now Playing - November 2016
Started the month with some game purchases so I got to playing them right away.
Dogz 2 (Game Boy Advance)
Tamagotchi is better, any Tamagotchi.
Daxter (PlayStation Portable)
One of the countless early impressive titles for PSP and of course still great today.
LEGO Star Wars II The Original Trilogy (PlayStation Portable)
Picking up where I left off back in 2012, still a great game.
Tekken Dark Resurrection (PlayStation Portable)
Still one of the best fighting games ever.
Checkmate (PlayStation)
Low Budget Chess - The Video Game.
SuperCar Challenge (PlayStation 3)
Generations Lost (Mega Drive)
Burnout Legends (PlayStation Portable)
It's basically a streamlined version of Burnout 3 Takedown ported to PSP, where 3 had tons of padding and annoying filler this gets to the gameplay, there are no long annoying mandatory tutorial videos you have to sit through anymore which is fantastic as those damn near ruined the whole game in 3.

Gaming Purchases - Oktober 2016
Oktober 4th:
Today's second-hand finds.
CD:
Tintin - Prisoners of the Sun
DVD:
Monster High - Ghouls Rule (UPDATE: I enjoyed this movie, even watched it twice, once in original english and then also the dubbed version, I'd say both were fairly equal in quality, some voices were better in original english while others were improved in the dub)
Other:
LEGO, one smaller non-LEGO plastic container containing a smaller Star Wars set with a laser cannon, a couple of droids and the instruction manual (the two clone troopers and some other minor parts were missing) and the other being a larger LEGO bucket containing more basic bricks and other various random mixture of pieces
A fairly large figure of a fat pig woman wearing a bikini while cooking and cleaning
I also ordered some games online that should arrive in a couple of days (UPDATE: They arrived on the 6th as predicted).
PlayStation Portable:
Need for Speed Underground Rivals (UPDATE: not the original release as the store suggested but the ugly PSP Essentials version, sadly)
PlayStation 3:
Armored Core V (already own this on Xbox 360 but I always try to get as many different versions of games as possible when found cheap enough)
Disney Infinity 3.0 - Star Wars Starter Pack (UPDATE: can't play it because it requires a firmware update that I am not willing to ruin my PS3 with any further, it's bad enough as it is already thanks to Sony, it doesn't need to be a lot worse)
Xbox 360:
MorphX (already own this, decided to get this second copy as a backup because it was cheap enough)
SoulCalibur IV (UPDATE: not the original release as the site suggested but the ugly Classics version, sadly, also this game sucked for more reasons than I feel like listing right now, but an almost complete lack of story more and locked away fundamental content you have to pay extra for that for example the vastly superior SoulCalibur III on PS2 had in it are a couple of top reasons why this was so awful, also the controls are a lot more sluggish and unresponsive and the animations more jerky and don't transition anywhere near as well as they did in previous instalments, and it's technically ugly too, every SoulCalibur before this looked more visually impressive, I'd say even Soul Blade on PlayStation was better looking, at least from a design point of view and how well it managed to push the hardware it was on because it still holds up well today and it a lot more fun than this game is, also Yoda fucking sucks and the whole Star Wars thing in this game is a fucking joke that should never have been told, this is worse than SoulCalibur II's stupid bonus characters bullshit with the more shallow than a cardboard cutout lack-of-character Link from The Legend of Zelda for the GameCube version, the painfully unfitting and forced inclusion of one of Tekken's worst characters Heihachi Mishima for the PS2 version and a very lacking rendition of a less than optimal version of the otherwise badass comic book character Spawn for the Xbox version, no really, there's a medieval Spawn they could've used that would've fit the game perfectly and been a fucking blast to play as, such a waste, still it was a better game in all respects than this disappointing turd)

Now Playing - April 2016
What I'm playing right now.
Rally Fusion Race Of Champions (PlayStation 2)
Pretty much my all-time favorite rally game. It has all my favorite rally cars throughout all the ages of rally racing, fantastic visuals, good driving physics, great tracks and a driving feel that makes it enjoyable to just play the game. I recently (middle of December 2015) got hold of the Xbox version but because my Xbox died just a few days later I never got a chance to try it out, so now instead I've dug out my PS2 copy and am playing through it from the beginning. I haven't played it in what feels like forever but it's just as good as I remember it to be and after having played some other rather fun rally games recently on PS2 and GameCube (WRC3 and Pro Rally respectively) you might think this would have a harder time living up to the memory I have of it being the best and all but honestly it's quite the opposite, it easily lived up to my rose-tinted memories and in comparison to the other two it's in a league of it's own, even other types of challenges that in other games are mostly tedious and annoying are fun in this, like cone challenges, I don't know any other racing game where I enjoy them in beside this!
Beyond Oasis (Mega Drive)
A top-down action adventure game with platforming, puzzle and RPG elements, a common type of game on Super Nintendo but not so much on the Mega Drive making this very much a one of a kind.
And what a one of a kind it is! It's easily the best representative of the genre in that generation and puts the Super Nintendo competitors like The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger in their places.
I completed the game with a time of 6 hours and 33 minutes with 0 deaths but I missed a lot of secrets and stuff so I only got about half of the stuff you can find and none of the secret super weapons. So there's certainly replayability in there as well, which is nice.
The game has a built in save feature for up to four separate files at a time and it saves your end scores so every time you beat it you can compare with how you did in your previous playthroughs. You can aim to get a better time and higher rank and stuff separately too as they have their own scoreboards which is really cool and should be appreciated by anyone who likes to improve their game without having to keep a manual score themselves by writing down stats on paper or on a PC or something, very innovative thinking by the developers to say the least, even more so for a game released in 1995 on a console from 1989.
So it's a great game and a must play for anyone who likes the idea of the genre but haven't felt satisfied with the more common Super Nintendo offerings, this was the type of game I was looking for and I enjoyed it a lot.
Metal Head (32X)
Basically Armored Core on the 32X, it's fantastic.
Star Wars Arcade (32X)
Virtua Racing Deluxe (32X)
